Bootstrap components in cattaDoc

Bootstrap enables responsive design in cattaDoc, ie. automatic adaption to different devices with different screen sizes

Bootstrap is the framework that enables the responsive design in cattaDoc. With Bootstrap cattaDoc automatically adapts to different devices such as smartphones, tablets and PCs with different screen sizes.

cattaDoc is designed for tablets like the Apple iPad with a screen resolution of 1024 x 768. With a larger screen more can be made visible at the same time which obviously is better. Small devices like smartphones can be used, but it is not good.

Bootstrap consists of the core Bootstrap framework, the jQuery dependency and a number of Bootstrap components.

Bootstrap

Bootstrap is a collection of JavaScript (JS) and style sheet (CSS) components. It is used in many web sites and web applications. Therefore it is possible to use one and the same installation of Bootstrap by changing the Bootstrap installation location in cattaDoc through System administration --> Configuration / System constants --> Common CSS folder and Common JS folder.

Bootstrap is included in the full cattaDoc download package, but not in the cattaDoc-only package.

Note: Bootstrap and all the Bootstrap components mentioned on this page use the same js/ og css/ subfolders. If you change it for one component, it is changed for all Bootstrap components. They therefore have to be located in the same folders.

jQuery

Bootstrap is based on jQuery and therefore jQuery is also required for running cattaDoc. jQuery is a fast and feature-rich JavaScript library.

jQuery and Bootstrap together (almost) eliminates the need for making various adaptions in cattaDoc for different web browsers. Another very big advantage.

jQuery is used in even more web sites and web applications. Therefore it is possible to use one and the same installation of jQuery by changing the jQuery installation location in cattaDoc through System administration --> Configuration / System constants --> Common JS folder.

jQuery is included in the full cattaDoc download package, but not in the cattaDoc-only package.

Bootstrap Datepicker

Bootstrap Datepicker is used in cattaDoc to enable selection of dates in date fields. There are a number of Bootstrap datepickers, and cattaDoc uses the eternicode variant.

Bootstrap Datepicker has both JavaScript (JS) and style sheet (CSS) components.

In cattaDoc 5, Bootstrap Datepicker replaces the priviously used DHTML Calendar Widget and before that the Tigra Calendar.

Bootstrap Datepicker is used in other web sites and web applications. Therefore it is possible to use one and the same installation of Bootstrap Datepicker by changing the Bootstrap Datepicker installation location in cattaDoc through System administration --> Configuration / System constants --> Common CSS folder and Common JS folder.

Bootstrap Datepicker is included in the full cattaDoc download package, but not in the cattaDoc-only package.

Bootstrap Switch

Bootstrap Switch is used in some of the cattaDoc search screens as an alternative to checkboxes and radio buttons.

Bootstrap Switch has both JavaScript (JS) and style sheet (CSS) components.

Bootstrap Switch is used in other web sites and web applications. Therefore it is possible to use one and the same installation of Bootstrap Switch by changing the Bootstrap Switch installation location in cattaDoc through System administration --> Configuration / System constants --> Common CSS folder and Common JS folder.

Bootstrap Switch is included in the full cattaDoc download package, but not in the cattaDoc-only package.

Bootstrap Select

Bootstrap Select is a custom select / multiselect for Bootstrap using button dropdown, designed to behave like regular Bootstrap selects.

It is used in a number of multiselect screens in cattaDoc when an Apple iOS device like the iPad is detected. As an alternative, because iOS does not support sizing of select fields.

Bootstrap Select has both JavaScript (JS) and style sheet (CSS) components.

Bootstrap Select is used in other web sites and web applications. Therefore it is possible to use one and the same installation of Bootstrap Select by changing the Bootstrap Select installation location in cattaDoc through System administration --> Configuration / System constants --> Common CSS folder and Common JS folder.

Bootstrap Select is included in the full cattaDoc download package, but not in the cattaDoc-only package.

Are You Sure? - A dirty form JQuery Plugin

Are-you-sure (jquery.are-you-sure.js) is a simple light-weight "dirty form" JQuery Plugin for modern browsers. It helps prevent users from losing unsaved HTML Form changes by promoting the user to save/submit.

I am looking for a better alternative. Are You Sure? too often overreacts when used in cattaDoc.

Are You Sure? is included in the full cattaDoc download package, but not in the cattaDoc-only package.

Bootstrap Password Strength Meter + Password Score

Bootstrap Strength Meter is a simple password strength meter based on Password Score. It only consists of JavaScripts and is only used in cattaDoc when changing password.

Bootstrap Password Strength Meter and Password Score is included in the full cattaDoc download package, but not in the cattaDoc-only package.
