A system administrator can make system-wide changes to the way cattaDoc behaves through the System Administration functions. Within these limits the user can configure cattaDoc for his or her own preferences through the User Preference screen which is accessible from the Search menu by clicking the button with this icon .

Through this screen the user can regulate a number of default behaviours when using cattaDoc. In addition to this, the user interface language is defined.
The user preferences are saved and kept from session to session.
From the user preferences screen there is access to upload of user template - click the button with the icon - and change of user password: click the button with the icon.
